Ruth Ann Nutt, ’50, 100, Feb. 7, 2022, Lawrence, Kansas. Survivors include her husband, Donald Nutt, ’50. Ruth Ann and Don moved to Baldwin City in 1946 to attend Baker University after Don’s Army service during World War II. As the mother of three sons, she balanced family life with service to the Baldwin City community. Her many activities included 40 years teaching youth Sunday school, lifelong membership in United Methodist Women, 50 years in the Tuesday Reading Club, and more than 50 years as a member of PEO. She served on the committee that planned the parade for Baldwin City’s first Maple Leaf Festival, served as the first woman board president of the Douglas County Extension Council, and was a founding board member of the Douglas County 4H Foundation. After Don’s retirement, they traveled with Baker University friends to England, Ireland, Scotland, and France.
